In these Terms and Conditions, the following terms have the meanings set out below:

These Terms and Conditions, together with any written scope note signed in connection with a specific service.
Glintcase, a watch case and bracelet surface refinishing workshop operated at No. 47 Jalan Sultan Idris Shah, 30000 Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia.
Any individual who contacts us through the website, by email, or in person at the workshop, and any person who leaves a piece with us for service.
Any surface refinishing or bracelet adjustment service provided by Glintcase, including Light Polish & Brushed Refresh, Bracelet Stretch & Link Adjustment, and Full Case Restoration Bench Work.
Any watch case, bracelet, or watch component left with the workshop for service.
The written document prepared by the workshop describing the specific work to be carried out on a piece, agreed and (for restoration projects) signed by the client before work begins.
The Glintcase website at https://glintcasedill.live.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using the website, submitting an enquiry through the contact form, or leaving a piece at the workshop, you agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, you should not use the website or engage our services.

You represent that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. If you are acting on behalf of another person or entity, you represent that you have the authority to do so.

For workshop services, the Agreement is formed when you leave a piece with us and acknowledge the Scope Note (for standard services) or when both parties sign the Scope Note (for restoration projects).

3. Service Description

Glintcase provides manual watch case and bracelet surface refinishing services from its workshop in Ipoh, Perak. The services available are:

  • Light Polish & Brushed Refresh — surface treatment of watch case and bracelet exterior for pieces with daily-wear surface marks. Fixed price: RM 480.
  • Bracelet Stretch & Link Adjustment — per-link inspection and adjustment, pin and screw replacement, clasp servicing. Fixed price: RM 590.
  • Full Case Restoration Bench Work — extended bench project for cases with substantial wear. Fixed price: RM 2,210. Requires signed Scope Note and 50% deposit.

Services are provided from the workshop premises. The website does not facilitate remote service delivery. All pieces must be dropped off at the workshop address. Mail-in or courier arrangements, if made, are at the client's risk and cost.

We reserve the right to decline any piece we consider unsuitable for service — including pieces where the condition, metal type, or existing coating makes safe and appropriate work impossible — without obligation to provide a reason beyond the initial assessment note.

4. Workshop Service Terms

4.1 Intake and Assessment

All pieces are inspected under magnification at intake before any work is agreed or begun. Photographs of the piece are taken at intake to document its condition. No work is carried out before the applicable Scope Note has been prepared and acknowledged by the client.

4.2 Scope Notes

A Scope Note describes the specific work to be carried out, the techniques to be used, and any areas that will not be touched. For Light Polish and Bracelet Adjustment services, the Scope Note is provided at drop-off and acknowledged verbally or in writing. For Full Case Restoration projects, the Scope Note is presented as a written document that must be signed by both parties before work commences. No variation to the agreed scope is made without notifying the client first.

4.3 Turnaround Times

Turnaround times are indicative: approximately one week for Light Polish, one to two weeks for Bracelet Adjustment, and four to six weeks for Full Case Restoration. These are not contractual completion dates. Where work will take longer than the indicated period, the client will be notified. Glintcase is not liable for loss or damage arising from a delay in completing work.

4.4 Uncollected Pieces

Pieces should be collected within 30 days of notification that work is complete. If a piece remains uncollected after 60 days without explanation, Glintcase will make reasonable attempts to contact the client. After 90 days from notification, uncollected pieces may be stored at the client's risk, and a storage fee may apply.

4.5 Unresolvable Damage

Where the initial assessment reveals that the piece cannot be helped within the agreed service scope, it will be returned to the client without charge for work not carried out. The workshop reserves the right to return a piece at any stage if it becomes apparent during work that the agreed scope cannot be completed safely.

5. Your Responsibilities

By engaging our services or using the website, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information when submitting enquiries or completing workshop intake documentation.
  • Disclose any known pre-existing damage, repairs, or modifications to a piece that may be relevant to the service.
  • Collect your piece within a reasonable time after notification that work is complete.
  • Use the website only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others.
  • Not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website or its underlying systems.

You are responsible for ensuring that any piece you leave with the workshop is your property or that you have the authority of the owner to have work carried out on it. Glintcase will not carry out work on any piece suspected of being stolen or otherwise unlawfully obtained.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the Glintcase website — including text, photographs, design, layout, and the Glintcase name and logo — is the property of Glintcase or its licensors and is protected under applicable Malaysian intellectual property law.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the website for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any website content without our prior written consent.

Photographs taken of your piece during the intake and exit inspection process remain on file with Glintcase for documentation purposes. We may use such photographs internally but will not publish or distribute photographs of identifiable client property without consent.

7. Payment Terms

7.1 Pricing

All prices are stated in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and are fixed at the point the Scope Note is agreed. The price does not change between the time of agreement and the time of collection, except where the client requests additional work beyond the original scope, in which case any additional charge is agreed in writing before the additional work begins.

7.2 Deposit

A 50% deposit (RM 1,105) is required for Full Case Restoration projects at the time the Scope Note is signed. No deposit is required for Light Polish or Bracelet Adjustment services. The deposit is non-refundable if the client cancels the service after work has commenced, except where cancellation is due to a breach by Glintcase.

7.3 Payment Methods and Timing

For Light Polish and Bracelet Adjustment, payment in full is due at collection. For Full Case Restoration, the 50% deposit is due at scope sign-off and the balance is due at collection. Accepted payment methods are cash and bank transfer (details provided at the workshop). The piece will not be released until payment in full has been received.

7.4 No Refunds on Completed Services

Once a service has been completed in accordance with the agreed Scope Note, no refund is available. If you believe the work was not carried out as agreed, please raise this with us at collection. We will discuss the concern in good faith with reference to the intake and exit photographs and the written Scope Note.

8. Disclaimers

The website and its content are provided on an "as is" basis. We make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or availability of the website.

Workshop services are provided with reasonable care and skill, but we do not make any representation that a specific cosmetic result will be achieved. The outcome of surface refinishing depends on the metal condition of the piece, and is limited by what the physical state of the case allows. What the workshop can and cannot address is described in the Scope Note before work begins.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 (Malaysia) or any other applicable law.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, Glintcase's total liability to you arising from or in connection with a service shall not exceed the amount paid for that specific service.

We are not liable for: loss of value attributed to the polishing of a collector piece; consequential, indirect, or special loss; loss of profit or anticipated savings; or any loss not directly caused by our breach of this Agreement.

In the event that a piece is damaged while in our custody due to our negligence, our liability is limited to the reasonable cost of restoring the piece to the condition in which it was received, up to the value of the service fee paid. We are not liable for pre-existing damage or wear not caused by our work.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Glintcase, its staff, and representatives from any claims, losses, damages, or costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: your breach of this Agreement; your misrepresentation regarding the ownership or condition of a piece; or your violation of any applicable law in connection with your use of our services or the website.

11. Termination

You may withdraw from a workshop service agreement before work has commenced, subject to the deposit terms in Section 7. Once work has begun under a signed Scope Note, the agreement may only be terminated by mutual agreement.

Glintcase may decline to proceed with or complete a service where the piece is found to be unsafe to work on, where the client's instructions are contrary to these terms, or where the client has provided materially false information.

Provisions relating to intellectual property, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution survive the termination of this Agreement.

12. Dispute Resolution

If you have a concern about a service, please contact us directly at [email protected] or in person at the workshop. We will make a genuine effort to resolve any dispute informally within 14 days of receiving written notice of the issue.

If informal resolution is not possible, both parties agree to attempt mediation before pursuing formal legal proceedings. Mediation shall be conducted in Ipoh, Perak, under the rules of a mutually agreed mediator or, failing agreement, under the rules of the Malaysian Mediation Centre.

This Agreement is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. The courts of Malaysia, and specifically the courts of the State of Perak, shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction to resolve any dispute arising under this Agreement.

13. General Provisions

  • Entire Agreement. This Agreement, together with any Scope Note, constitutes the entire agreement between you and Glintcase in respect of the relevant service and supersedes all prior communications.
  • Severability. If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
  • Waiver. Failure by either party to enforce any provision of this Agreement does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
  • Assignment. You may not assign your rights or obligations under this Agreement without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights to a successor business.
  • Notices. Formal notices under this Agreement should be directed to us at [email protected] or to the workshop address.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page with the updated date shown at the top. Material changes will also be noted on the homepage for 30 days after publication.

For services in progress under a signed Scope Note at the time of any update, the terms in force at the date of the Scope Note apply. For new services commenced after an update, the updated terms apply.
